Wedding photography FAQs
Answers to common questions about wedding coverage, packages and optional extras. Your signed agreement contains the full booking terms.
How do we enquire about our wedding date?
Please get in touch with your wedding date, venue and the kind of coverage you have in mind—I’d genuinely love to hear all about your plans. Whatever feels easiest for you is absolutely fine: you can simply message me, arrange a video call or meet me face to face over a coffee somewhere local to you. And yes, the coffee is my shout!
If we choose to book you, what are the next steps?
It’s a lovely, straightforward process:
• Once I’ve confirmed that your date is available, I’ll help you choose the package that feels right for your wedding.
• I’ll send over your wedding agreement and booking details so everything is clear and easy to follow.
• Your date is safely secured when I receive the signed agreement and cleared 20% booking fee.
• There’s no need to have every little detail ready straight away. Timings aren’t needed until around a month before the wedding, and if you’ve booked a pre-wedding shoot, I can happily go through them with you then.
• The final balance is due 28 days before the wedding.
How do we secure our wedding date?
Your date is officially yours once I’ve received your signed agreement and the cleared 20% booking fee. Until both have arrived, the date does remain available to other couples, so I’ll always let you know exactly what’s needed.
What wedding photography packages do you offer?
I offer two main options. The Half Day package is £900 and covers your ceremony through to the first dance. The Full Day package is £1,200 and begins with bridal preparation, continuing through to the first dance.
What is included in both packages?
Whichever package you choose, you’ll receive edited digital images, a private online gallery, a USB slideshow and a custom presentation box—everything brought together so you can enjoy and revisit your day.
Can a package be tailored to our wedding?
Absolutely. Every wedding is a little different, so I’m always happy to tailor a package around what matters most to you. Just tell me what you have in mind and I’ll put together a bespoke quotation.
What is your photography style?
My style is relaxed, natural and all about the genuine moments that make your day yours. I’ll quietly capture plenty of candid memories, while offering gentle direction whenever it helps you feel comfortable and look your best.
What optional extras are available?
You can add a pre-wedding shoot for £150, a second photographer for £300, a content creator for £300 or an FPV drone video for £300. If you’re unsure what would suit your day, I’m always happy to talk everything through with you.
What is a pre-wedding shoot?
A pre-wedding shoot is a lovely, relaxed photography session before the big day. It gives us time to get to know each other, helps you feel at ease in front of the camera and leaves you with a beautiful set of photographs together. Little ones and dogs are very welcome to come along if needed—the more, the merrier!
What is a content creator?
A wedding content creator captures those fun, candid behind-the-scenes moments as photos and short vertical videos, usually on a phone, ready for quick sharing on social media. It works alongside your professional photography rather than replacing it, giving you another lovely way to relive the day.
What is the FPV drone video?
The FPV drone video is an approximately five-minute highlights film, captured by a specialist FPV drone pilot and set to a song of your choice—often your first-dance song. It’s a brilliant way to see your day from a completely different perspective. Filming is weather-dependent, and your venue’s permission will be needed beforehand.
Can we meet before the wedding?
Absolutely—I genuinely love meeting couples before their wedding. I’m a little old-school, so face to face is always my favourite, usually over a coffee somewhere local to you—and yes, it’s my shout! A video call is equally welcome if that suits you better. There’s no need to have everything finalised when you get in touch; details such as timings aren’t needed until around a month before the wedding.
How far do you travel?
I usually cover weddings within around 90 minutes of Sutton-in-Ashfield, although I’m always happy to consider weddings a little farther afield. It’s important to me that I arrive fresh, alert and ready to give your day my very best, and several hours of travelling can make that more difficult. With plenty of notice, overnight accommodation can often be arranged—so please do ask.
Can we give you a group-photo list?
Absolutely. I strongly recommend sending me a list with the names of everyone needed for each group photograph, as it helps this part of the day feel calm, organised and run much more smoothly. If I’m photographing your wedding on my own without a second photographer, I’ll also need a friendly helper who knows the guests to help round everyone up.
Can guests take photographs?
Of course—your guests are very welcome to take their own photographs. I simply ask that they don’t block the professional coverage, direct or distract people, or use intrusive lighting during those important moments. That way, everyone can enjoy taking pictures without anything being missed.
Do you need a meal?
For coverage lasting more than six hours, food is always very much appreciated, but it certainly isn’t a requirement. I just ask that you let me know beforehand so I can make suitable arrangements and plan a short break around the key moments of your day.
What happens if it rains?
Please don’t worry—rain doesn’t have to spoil your photographs and can sometimes create wonderfully atmospheric images. I’ll happily adapt the plan and use suitable indoor or sheltered spots wherever possible. If the weather creates a genuine safety risk, coverage may need to be moved, adjusted or briefly paused, but I’ll always do my best to keep everything relaxed.
When is the final balance due?
The final balance is due 28 days before your wedding. I’ll make sure the payment details are clear, so it’s one less thing for you to worry about as the big day gets closer.
When will we receive our photographs?
Your photographs are normally ready within 4–6 weeks. During particularly busy periods, delivery may take up to 8 weeks, but I’ll be carefully working through your images to give every photograph the attention it deserves.
How many photographs will we receive?
You’ll receive a carefully selected and professionally edited collection of high-resolution photographs that tells the story of your day. I don’t promise an exact number because every wedding is wonderfully different, and the final total depends on your coverage, schedule and everything that unfolds.
Will we receive RAW or unedited files?
I don’t supply RAW, unedited, test or rejected files. Instead, you’ll receive a polished selection of high-resolution JPEGs, each chosen and edited with care so the finished gallery feels consistent and beautifully tells the story of your wedding.
How long will our online gallery remain available?
Your online gallery will normally remain available for at least 12 months, giving you plenty of time to enjoy and share it. I do warmly recommend downloading your photographs promptly and keeping your own secure backups, as I can’t promise indefinite storage.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes. I use professional equipment and take reasonable backup measures to look after your wedding photographs. Your memories are incredibly important, and I treat their care with the seriousness they deserve.
Can we print and share our photographs?
Absolutely. Once your booking is fully paid, you’re welcome to download, store, print and share your delivered photographs for personal and family use, including on social media. Copyright remains with Lee Panton Photography, and any commercial use or supplier promotion just needs my written permission first.
Will our photographs be used online or for promotion?
Only if you’re happy for me to do so. Permission to use your photographs for my portfolio or promotion is completely optional and will never affect your service or price. If no option is selected, the answer is automatically no. You can also withdraw permission for future use later where reasonably practicable.
What happens if we cancel?
I completely understand that plans can sometimes change. Cancellation just needs to be made in writing, and any charge will reflect my genuine net loss rather than act as a penalty. As an initial estimate, the 20% booking fee is normally retained if cancellation is more than 90 days before the wedding; 50% of the total price may apply 30–90 days before; and up to 100% may apply fewer than 30 days before. Any savings or replacement income will be credited, and any overpayment will be refunded after the final calculation.
Can we postpone or reschedule our wedding?
If your plans change, please get in touch as soon as you can and I’ll do my best to help. One transfer to an available replacement date within 18 months may be offered, with your booking fee carried over. Any change to your package or price will be agreed in writing. If I’m unavailable on the new date, the fair cancellation terms will apply.
What happens if you can’t photograph our wedding?
This would only ever happen in exceptional circumstances, but I want you to feel reassured that there is a clear plan. If serious illness or another event beyond my reasonable control prevents me from covering your wedding, I’ll promptly look for a fair solution—such as adjusted coverage, postponement or a suitably experienced replacement photographer. You never have to accept a proposed replacement. If no acceptable replacement or rescheduled service can be provided, payments for services not supplied will be refunded.
